Springrolls and Saturdays

Spring Rolls and Saturdays features Zeenat, a young South African Indian woman who vowed not to marry until she was 25, yet finds herself engaged at 22, complete with a sparkling diamond ring. Living in Laudium—a town notorious for its elite Indian Muslims and even more formidable Indian aunties—Zeenat grapples with the expectations surrounding her sudden engagement to Zameer. Despite her initial acceptance, the thought of wedding planning triggers real hives. Leveraging her recent graduation and ongoing job hunt as an actuarial scientist, she deftly postpones her wedding preparations.

In the midst of her personal turmoil, Zeenat is tasked with chauffeuring her affluent, commanding Nani. During one of these errands, a mishap at the hospital brings her into contact with Aadil, a charming doctor who inadvertently reveals a long-hidden family secret linked to their grandparents. This revelation draws Zeenat into a complex web of past loves and new possibilities.

As Zeenat navigates her relationships with Aadil and Zameer, she finds herself torn between fulfilling societal expectations and following her heart. Her journey is further complicated by her professional aspirations and the discovery of her own desires. Zeenat must decide if she can forge her own path—and what that means for her future.
